This is my University work section all work from my BA (hon's) Degree Web Design is displayed here for all years.
This unit introduced us all to the benefits and working practice of marketing within web design business models, how it works and what rewards you gain from it.

We were given a real life client to work with for this unit, TMP Media a local design agency in Hull, for this client we were to re-design and build the companies website within the constraints of their own branding.
We were put into 2 groups myself being in group MM03 with Jack, Darren, Aaron & Charlotte, as a group we were perfectly grouped, most of all attended regularly and had a diverse skill set, ranging from Flash to font end and back end coding, to design and documentation.
We all did great research into the workings of keywords, SEO, robots, spiders index browsing, key content and Google Analytics, all of which proved vital to our development.
It was a great change for the University to arrange for Sally Bell, a very well known marketing guru to come visit us and be a speaker, look over our work and offer key tips and insight into the real working models.
The part I played in the project was to build a CMS (content management system) from scratch that would run the website for the company. A massive challenge but something I thoroughly enjoy doing.
Using the branding the client had offered with prior knowledge and key communication with the clients representatives, all helped in the planning of the style and functionality that the CMS would offer.

This was an amazing brief and am glad I was able to play a major part in it, This is of course biased as my skill set fits perfectly and it is something I enjoy in creating.
What I have learnt from this brief will help me massively for my FMP and for that I can only thank the college for that chance.
I thought the team worked well as a whole, we had some hick-ups on the way; as many do. but our work has been too a great standard and overall I am very happy with the end product.
