This is my University work section all work from my BA (hon's) Degree Web Design is displayed here for all years.
For this brief we had to create a Photographic Essay consisting of 10-20 images on a certain theme, displayed in a movie clip format, with options to add effects, dialogue or sound if required.
Here you can view the full - Brief
The pictures will be taken on my Sony Digi Camera at home and edited in Photoshop if needed.
Id like get some kind of emotion/feeling into the pictures, to try and place life into it, thus making the picture overall more interesting and accurate. To also get some depth and flow to the pictures.
My approach to the brief will be to research more into the use of lighting and props to create varied situations to alter the way in which the viewer perceives the pictures.
My photo essay is about a long weekend trip to New York my wife (Ally) her mum (Carolyn) and myself took in late 2007 and what we got up o while there.
To help get some insight into photography Essays I decided to take a look at the following web sites which I found on the internet.
I'm going to be creating my work with my Sony Digi Camera and touched up in Abodes Photoshop CS2 if required. Then all brought together in Macromedia's Flash program as a flash file.
The piece of work will be displayed in its own separate page on this site. access to that page is in the Final Piece sub-section beneath this section.
I was very happy with the outcome of my work and with a few individual pictures, though as with most things I try, my work has to be good, yet to be good you have to have a keen knowledge in the subject matter to be able to pass on your skills to the audience.
As this part of our university degree wasn't as specific towards its title we didn't go into photography as much as say a photography degree student would?.
My main problems were as stated above, not having months of tutoring to help improve our skills within photography, made it harder for me to be happier with the quality of my work on completion. Given more time and practice I believe my work would improve greatly.
